Just A Heads Up
Do you or someone you know suffer headaches
Recently our physiotherapist Rochelle attended the 3 day Watson Headache® Institute, Level 1 Foundation Headache Course titled:
“The Role of C1-C3 Cervical Afferents in Primary Headache”.
The course involved a protocol for the skilled assessment and management of the upper cervical (neck) spine in headache and migraine conditions based on the Watson Headache® Approach.
The Watson Headache® Approach is a recognised scientifically researched method and examination and treatment for headache and migraine conditions.
So what’s it all about?
The diagnostic accuracy of the Watson Headache® Approach is unparalleled.
What your sessions involve
Confirming the upper neck are responsible for your headache or migraine
Determine which of the upper cervical spinal joints are involved
Patient education so you understand how the upper cervical spine may be the cause of your headache/migraine
Temporary reproduction AND resolution (easing) of headache pain/symptoms using specific techniques
NO cracking or manipulation of your neck – all techniques are very specific but some discomfort is expected
How does it work?
A 60minute initial assessment will allow Rochelle to confirm if your neck is a contributing factor to your headache and/or migraine.
We guarantee that if your neck is contributing to your headache and/or migraine, we will find a way to significantly reduce (or potentially resolve) your symptoms within five treatments.
In most cases, for best results, the first 5 sessions are usually done within a 3-week period, however, Rochelle may adjust this based on your symptoms.
If, after 5 treatments, no noticeable progress has been made in the treatment of your headache or migraine symptoms we will discuss other avenues of care with you.
If Rochelle thinks your upper neck is NOT responsible for your symptoms, we will refer you on.
